HOW CANNABIS ENHANCES YOGA

It’s clear that cannabis enhances a range of experiences, - from deep meditation to giggling about giraffe’s calves (true story!), - but let’s consider how it specifically adds to yoga and other spiritual and mind-body practices.

Some of the things I’d say is that, as a sensory enhancer, cannabis can increase embodiment and pleasure in yoga (and love-making, for that matter).

As a pain-modulator, anti-anxiety aid, and mood-elevator, it can help us stay present in yoga and sex (... Did I mention I’m also a sex coach?) and, as a boundary-dissolver, it can help us feel the ultimate union of not only mind and body, - but of ourselves with the whole cosmos.

Truly.

When Cannabis Comes Together With Yoga (And Other Practices For Healing And Oneness), The Whole Is Far Greater Than The Sum Of Each Part.

Most notable of the benefits, to me, is how the plant helps us tune in so that we even feel like doing yoga.

Yoga resistance is a thing. I get it myself: Even though relaxing, stretching, mindful strengthening, meditating, etc. all feel SO GOOD, it’s easy to talk myself out of practice: There are always dishes to be done, notifications to be tended to, the list goes on and on…

I teach others to cultivate self-care, but putting theory to practice isn’t easy.

Busy people like us take a puff break (with the phone away!), and usually,-  inevitably, - we start noticing tension in the neck, and do a few slow shoulder rolls as we toke…

And by the end of the joint, the messy kitchen or task list seem … less urgent to us, and pleasure  and presence in the body more appealing.

Self-Care Practice, Anyone?

In another article we’ll discuss possible pit-falls and best-practices to keep cannabis-enhanced yoga safe, but for now,  at least we can see an overview of the benefits and be grateful to this glorious medicine and ally.

APPRECIATE YOU!
